4Bruce in Beijing    12 Apr

Introducing Chinese to Scottish youngsters

Before going back to Scotland Bruce was really lucky to meet a group of senior teachers from Scotland who were here in Beijing learning how to introduce Chinese into Scottish schools.

Bruce was invited to visit a key Scottish school in this project, Hillhead High, which is linked with Hanban, the supervisor of Confucius Institute in Beijing.

Bruce is talking with the Chinese teacher Ai-lin who is explaining how Chinese is introduced and the response from Scottish youngsters.

This is part of a very big project to allow every Scottish school student to have some experience of Chinese in their school studies.

You will also hear Ai-lin singing a lovely song in Chinese which she composed to help the students with their studies.
